Here is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your work in an incredible international show.

Open Show holds social screenings worldwide where the public can experience compelling visual stories and interact directly with their creators.

Open Show was conceived and created by photographer and technologist Tim Wagner in 2008 when he saw many friends’ compelling projects languishing unseen and unpublished. Working with Adrianne Koteen and Melanie Light from Fotovision he organized a social screening event called SlideSlam.

This grassroots show rapidly caught fire and presenter André Hermann came on board as our first Co-Producer. As our unique movement grew we relaunched as Open Show – a name suggested by board advisor (and former senior editor of American Photo magazine) Miki Johnson.

Open Show UAE in collaboration with Photography LIVE Dubai proudly presents this opportunity on May 7th 2016 at the Center Stage of the Photography LIVE event from 7th to 9th May.

An opportunity to brush your shoulders with the best in the photography and videography industry. A unique chance to share your stories with the people who matter in the industry.

Please keep in mind the following while preparing your work for submission:

STILL IMAGE PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

1) 15-25 images on a single narrative topic or visual theme (Open Show is NOT portfolio review, or a forum to present your best images that are not on a single narrative).

2) File Format: JPEG format image at 72 DPI and 1500 pixels ( or larger) on the longest side.

3) NO text on images or watermarks.

4) Complete creative freedom, but Only cropping and minor image adjustments are acceptable for journalism or documentary projects.

5) Borders are only acceptable for scans of printed photographs that cannot be produced in any other way (film etc.).

6) Name your images in the sequence, you wish to show them, with your name (Example: John_Smith_01.jpg, John_Smith_02.jpg). This sequence cannot be changed later.When uploading please select from lowest to highest number to maintain order.

VIDEO/MULTIMEDIA REQUIREMENTS

1) Running time must be in 3-8 minutes.

2) All audio used must be properly licensed (music, sourced material etc.).

3) If your work is accepted we will require a MOV file ideally at 1040p or 720p resolution.

IMPORTANT NOTES

You MUST be present at Open Show on the date selected for your work to be shown.

We create all title slides and no explanatory text slides are allowed.

If your work is selected you will be notified by email at least one week in advance of the event date with tips on how to prepare.
