Ard Matthews, frontman for South African band Just Jinjer, is going to perform in Dubai at McGettigan’s JLT on August 19.
Durban-raised Matthews helped catapult Just Jinjer into record-breaking territory with his singing and songwriting — their 1997 debut album All Comes Round became the best-selling rock album in South African history. Over the last decade, the band settled briefly in California before returning to its native country, performed with bands such as U2, Counting Crows and Def Leppard in venues across the world, and released six albums.
In 2012, the now 41-year-old Matthews debuted a solo album, First Offerings.
