Latest Trends in Information Technology

School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences

Invites you to a seminar on ‘Latest Trends in Information Technology’

Abstract:

As part of our 50th anniversary of teaching computer science, Heriot-Watt University is hosting a discussion evening on Information Technology. Professionals working in Computing or the IT industry, or people planning to move into the sector are welcome to join in this event. Four faculty members from the School of Mathematical & Computer Sciences at Heriot-Watt Dubai will share their knowledge of current and emerging topics in the field.

In particular Hani Ragab will provide an overview of Network Security and Talal Shaikh will explore concepts in Big Data, however we would also like to hear the views from the community and what professionals have to say in either these or other topics.

We would also be interested in what the community believes are needed skills for our young graduates and what are obstacles preventing older professionals from pursuing postgraduate studies.
