Emirates Post joins TRA's 'Single sign-on' for government services

The Emirates Post Group is to provide a single access point for multiple government services under the ‘Single sign-on’ (SSO) facility, launched recently by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, TRA.

The facility, under the first phase of the SmartPass service, is one of the 22 initiatives of smart government as part of the vision of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

As one of the four entities selected by the TRA to implement the SSO facility, Emirates Post says it is in advanced stage of offering multiple government services online using a single access point.

To access the application in Arabic or English, users are first required to register their information through SmartPass devices located in shopping malls and petrol stations, and then use the username and password to access any government service through different government websites.

“Emirates Post Group has been working with the TRA for several months to make Single sign-on a success. We will soon feature two logins on our website, one for single sign-on and the other for EPG services,” explained Khalid Shahdoor, Chief Information Officer, Emirates Post Group.
